Pediatric Care

Pediatric chiropractic is the care of any children, whether they’ve had an injury or not, to ensure their nervous system is free of interference, so the child can grow up as healthy as possible with few to little health concerns in the future.

Pregnancy Care

The first question everyone asks about chiropractic during pregnancy is “How safe is it?” Not only is it completely safe, but effective, gentle, and best of all—completely natural.

Everything we do is to ensure the safety of the baby and the mother. Our technique is very gentle, and there’s no major twisting, turning, or jostling of the mom.

Family Care

Chiropractic care is about freeing up the flow of information from the brain to the rest of the body to allow the person to achieve their fullest possible potential. The nervous system controls every system in the body. When there’s interference due to Emotional Stress, Physical Stress, or Chemical Stress, communication is interrupted, affecting proper function.

Pediatric & Special Needs Chiropractic Care

Families raising children with autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, sensory processing disorder, cerebral palsy, and developmental delays often feel unheard and under-supported by conventional systems. At Crossroads Chiropractic, we believe the first and most important part of care is truly listening. We listen first — and treat second, always at your child's pace.

What We Address

  • Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
  • Sensory Processing Disorder (SPD)
  • ADHD & attention challenges
  • Developmental delays
  • Sleep disturbances
  • Digestive issues in children
  • Chronic ear infections
  • Postural and gait concerns
  • Birth trauma & plagiocephaly

What Care Looks Like

Our doctors use gentle, low-force techniques specifically adapted for children — never the high-force approaches used for adults. Our clinic is designed to be calm and sensory-friendly, with low stimulation and predictable routines that help children feel safe. We pace each session entirely around your child's comfort, and we keep you involved and informed at every step of the process.

What Families Experience

While every child responds differently and we never promise specific outcomes, families commonly report improvements in sleep quality, calmer and more regulated behavior, better focus and attention, and reduced digestive discomfort. These are among the most frequently observed changes — often noticed within the first few weeks of consistent care.

How We Help

We want our bodies to function at as high a level as possible at all times. This becomes even more important during pregnancy. While this can be a beautiful time in a woman’s life, it can also have some major discomforts, annoyances and pain along the way.

Seeking chiropractic care can help women have a more comfortable pregnancy. The Webster Technique is specially designed for pregnancy, to create as much space as possible in the womb, so the child can grow and develop. We also offer ChiroLux pregnancy pillows for the mom’s comfort.

Our doctors make sure the nervous system is functioning properly to allow for proper hip, pelvis, and sacral alignment, and the ligaments supporting the uterus are as relaxed as possible, to reduce any discomfort from carrying the child. Most women tell us that labor and delivery are much smoother and faster, and there’s less need for intervention when under chiropractic care.

Common Questions From Families Like Yours

Choosing chiropractic care for your child — especially if they have special needs — is a big decision. Here are the questions we hear most often, answered honestly.

  • Is chiropractic care safe for children and infants?

Yes. Pediatric chiropractic uses very gentle, low-force techniques specifically adapted for a child's developing spine and nervous system. The amount of pressure used on an infant is often no more than you'd use to test the ripeness of a tomato. Our practitioners are trained in pediatric adjustment protocols and prioritize your child's comfort at every step.
  • My child has autism / sensory sensitivities — will they be able to tolerate an adjustment?

Absolutely, and we plan for it. Our clinic environment is designed to be sensory-friendly — low stimulation, predictable routines, and a patient pace. We work at your child's speed, always. The first visit is largely observation and gentle assessment, with no pressure to proceed faster than your child is comfortable.
  • What results can I realistically expect for my child?

Every child responds differently, and we never promise specific outcomes. What families most commonly report — often within the first few weeks — is improved sleep, calmer behavior, better focus, and reduced digestive discomfort. We track progress carefully and adjust the care plan based on how your child responds.
  • How is chiropractic care different from physical therapy or occupational therapy?

Chiropractic care focuses specifically on the function of the nervous system and how it controls all function. While PT and OT address movement and daily skills, chiropractic addresses the neurological foundation that underlies all of those functions. Many families find chiropractic works best as a complement to other therapies, not a replacement.

  • How many visits will my child need?

It depends on the child's needs, goals, and the INSiGHT Scans. We begin with a thorough consultation and assessment, then recommend a care plan with a clear timeline and check-in milestones. We believe in transparency — you'll always know what we're doing, why, and what progress looks like at each stage.

  • Do you accept insurance for pediatric or special needs care?

We are a self-pay office, which means we don't work directly with insurance companies, bu the majority of families are able to find a financial option that works well for them.
